March was punctuated by two significant events: the first was a weekend where we were visited by Rebecca, a teaching friend of mine in Madrid, and our trip to Australia... but let's start with Rebecca. :-)
We had an absolutely delightful time, which included exploring Old Cascais, enjoying spending time with Margaux at home, riding tram 28 and visiting the main square in Lisbon, and checking out Guincho beach. Spending the whole day plus having dinner in Lisbon marked my first whole day away from Margaux - while she was being taken care of by Thomas, of course!
Clockwise from top right: Standing in the main plaza in Lisbon with the river to our backs; another beautiful plaza in Lisbon; pasteis de nata from The World Needs Nata in Cascais; a selfie taken on tram 28; tram 28; with Maggie at a restaurant near Guincho Beach (where the river from Lisbon meets the Atlantic Ocean); on Guincho Beach; a photo of the full complement of us at Guincho; an abandoned swimming pool next to Guincho... frequently the waves splash up through the portholes in the wall and crash into the pool; bathing Margaux; another photo in tram 28; and to finish, a photo of holding Margaux at home.
You can read Rebecca's account of her stay with us on her blog here (part 1), here (part 2), and here (part 3)
